Kaluga region increased export by 3 times

The total volume of exports by Kaluga enterprises in 2016 increased by 13% compared to the data for 2015. Exports to non-CIS countries increased by 3 times. Small and medium-sized enterprises account for more than half of all exports.

At the meeting of the Council of the Central Federal District, the head of the Kaluga region Anatoly Artamonov noted that the region accounts for 166 large projects, in which more than 470 billion rubles have been invested. The construction of 91 enterprises has been completed and 25,000 jobs created. At the same time the majority of investors choose modern industrial parks to locate their production.

During his speech, Anatoly Artamonov emphasized the completion of construction of a unique biocomplex for deep processing of grain, capable of producing gluten, starch, feed additives, glucose-fructose syrup, glucose monohydrate, sorbitol. Until then, the need for these products was closed exclusively by imports.

In addition, the region is successfully developing a pharmaceutical cluster of 63 enterprises, which produces more than 100 types of drugs. About 70% of the region's enterprises involved in the pharmaceutical industry are small innovative enterprises.

In conclusion, Anatoly Artamonov added that the Kaluga Region is fully ready to supply competitive and quality goods for export.
