Russian banks have started offering deposits in yuan

Russians are offered to open deposits in yuan in 10 of the 30 largest banks in the country. At the same time, at the moment the rates in many of them are quite low. This is due to the current renminbi rates on the money and bond markets. This was stated by Valery Yemelyanov, an expert on the stock market of BCS World of Investments.

According to the websites of credit and financial organizations, at the moment Russians can open a deposit in yuan in VTB, GPB, Alfa-Bank, RSHB, ICD, EBRD, "Dom.RF", "Saint Petersburg", "Zenit" and "Tinkoff".

The highest rates are up to 1.7% (ICD) and up to 1.5% (Alfa-Bank and Tinkoff Bank). At the same time, the rate in credit and financial organizations of the Far Eastern Federal District (Far Eastern Federal District) is significantly higher: in the Asia-Pacific Bank, they offer up to 8.2%, in VTB - up to 8%.

According to Yemelyanov, such low rates are associated with "low renminbi rates in the money and bond markets." So, in order to make payments to depositors, banks are forced to invest yuan. For this purpose, as a rule, reliable bonds are used, the yield on which is about 3%. Accordingly, credit and financial organizations are ready to share about 50% of income with customers, RIA Novosti reports.
