The authorities of St. Petersburg intend to create conditions so that by 2030 75% of the city's residents will have access to regular sports. This was stated by the head of the Committee on Physical Culture and Sports Anton Shantyr during a live broadcast of the Regional Management Center.

At the moment, Smolny pays special attention to the most popular sports among citizens. In particular, the city is creating venues for swimming classes for both children and adults. Over the past 5 years alone, more than 40 swimming pools with a length of 25 meters have opened in St. Petersburg. By the beginning of 2022, there were already 213 of them in the city.

New schools in St. Petersburg are also equipped with 25-meter pools with six lanes and a bath for swimming lessons.

In addition, for achieving high sports results, any citizen of St. Petersburg can get a 50% discount on visiting the pool.
