Russia and Azerbaijan expand cooperation in innovation and digital economy

Russia and Azerbaijan plan to work together to minimize the losses that the pandemic has inflicted on the economies of the two countries.

To this end, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexey Overchuk and his Azerbaijani counterpart Shikhin Mustafayev have agreed to actively implement a bilateral agreement that provides for increased cooperation, including in trade and the economy.

In addition, the parties approved a draft "road map" on joint activities in the field of innovation and digital economy, said the first deputy head of the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation Mikhail Babich.

Today several investment projects with Russia's participation are implemented in Azerbaijan. For instance, we are talking about the joint with GAZ Group launch of the assembly of commercial vehicles in Azerbaijan. Also, the first pharmaceutical complex is being built there and a helicopter service center is being built, with Russian Helicopters taking part in the latter.
