The Russian authorities will allocate money for personal protective equipment for small and medium-sized enterprises and socially oriented non-profit organizations (NPOs) to enable them to return to their activities as soon as possible.

The corresponding statement was made by the head of the Ministry of Economic Development Maxim Reshetnikov during the meeting with the Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.

He explained that the agency hopes that such measures will allow enterprises and such NPOs to begin their work more quickly. Subsidies will be allocated for the purchase of personal protective equipment and necessary sanitation equipment so that the workplace meets sanitary norms during the pandemic.

R20bn will be allocated for this purpose. These subsidies will support about 1.5 million jobs.

Representatives of business should apply to the Federal Tax Service via a personal account of a taxpayer at the official website in the period from July 15 till August 15.

It is noted that those companies, the activities of which include a close and continuous contact of employees with customers, can count on the subsidies. Besides, the money will be given to socially oriented NGOs, whose work is connected with additional education, as well as to small and medium businesses in the sphere of physical culture and fitness, catering, consumer services, including beauty salons and dry-cleaners.
