In the Far East, residents of the special economic zone will be attracted to the development of the fishing industry

Over 80 residents of Advanced Special Economic Development Areas (ASEZs) and the Free Port of Vladivostok are implementing investment projects that aim to set up full-cycle industrial enterprises.

These include fish processing plants, scallop farms and production facilities that produce fresh and frozen fish, as well as fish products, including canned fish and caviar. In addition, residents are involved in the construction of onshore fish processing factories and aquaculture farming.

It is worth noting that the Far Eastern Federal District (FEFD) is currently a unique place among other federal districts in terms of total fish production in the country.

Among the residents of the TAD and the port of Vladivostok who are investing in the economy of the FEFD are those enterprises that are already engaged in the fishing industry. At the same time, they finance the implementation of projects aimed at carrying out repair and maintenance of all types of vessels, production of fishing gear for the fishing industry, construction of facilities for fish products transshipment and storage.

As of today, the total investment portfolio of projects at various stages of readiness exceeds 77 billion rubles. For example, the leader in the number of projects being implemented in the free port of Vladivostok is Primorsky Krai - the region has more than 30 projects. Kamchatka ranks among the territories of advanced development according to the same indicator. There are 15 residents in this region engaged in activities related to fisheries. Next are Khabarovsk Krai and Sakhalin.

At the moment about 20 investment projects have been implemented. Now more than 2 thousand inhabitants of the region work at new enterprises of TPS and the free port of Vladivostok. In addition, about 7,000 jobs will be created as new projects are commissioned.
