Special Economic Zone in Bashkiria will attract 20 billion rubles in investments

Regional authorities will manage the special economic zone (SEZ) "Alga" in Bashkortostan - the Ministry of Economic Development R has transferred these powers to the republic.

After the transfer of powers to the regional level, the efficiency of management companies in the SEZ is expected to increase.

The total area of the new special economic zone will amount to about 470 hectares, potentially 17 residents will be able to locate here by the end of 2029.

The new SEZ will make it possible to attract new investments, create new jobs, reduce migration outflow and increase the supply capacity of Russian-made products in foreign markets.

To date, seven companies have already expressed their desire to establish operations in the territory of Alga. For example, one of the investors intends to produce personal protective equipment for workers, which will have location and health monitoring sensors.

Another company - scientific-production enterprise "Ecologia-21" - wants to get involved in the processing of waste oil industry in the SEZ. This is expected to put the cleared land back into agricultural use, obtain nutritious soil for reclamation of exhausted lands as well as construction materials.

In the first 10 years of the special economic zone's operation agreements are expected to be signed with 10 residents, who will make investments of up to RUR 20 bn.
