Rosatom enterprise acquired Porsche plant

The composite division UMATEX has bought the company "Porcher Modern Materials" specializing in the production of technical textiles for use in various industrial applications.

The company is a Russian representative office of the French company Porcher Industries and is located in the Kaluga region.

It possesses the newest production equipment, which allows producing a wide range of fabrics of different weave types and unidirectional strips, which are based on carbon and glass fibers.

These textiles are characterised by their lightness, strength and resistance to acidic media, which makes them in demand in the aerospace, energy, shipbuilding, construction and automotive industries. It is also used in production of sports equipment.

Due to the purchase of new company UMATEX expects to increase 1,5 times the production capacity of composite division by production of technical fabrics. Besides the company will be able to gain experience and new developments on adaptation and modernization of equipment and creation of new products. This was stated by the General Director of the organization Alexander Tyunin.

We remind that UMATEX is a part of the State Atomic Energy Corporation ROSATOM and is the largest manufacturer of carbon fiber in Russia, being among ten world leaders in this sphere.

All plants and factories of the division are located in various regions of Russia, including in Tatarstan, Saratov region and near Chelyabinsk. Besides that, some trading houses of UMATEX are located outside of our country - in Czech Republic and China.

In addition to manufacture of carbon fibers and carbon fiber-based products, the company performs scientific and research activities and assists its partners in engineering.

The Porsche Group has been in existence for over 100 years and is now one of the world's leading manufacturers of technical textiles, including materials and ribbons of the highest quality for the aviation industry. Its factories are located in European countries, China, the United States and Brazil.
