The first unmanned combine harvester was tested in Russia

Russia's first unmanned combine harvester has been tested. The testing took place on Thursday at the Bessergenevskaya agro-industrial complex near Taganrog.

During the tests, there was a demonstration of the harvester-drone operation, which is equipped with the domestic autonomous control system Cognitive Agro Pilot, thanks to which the machinery is controlled by a robot assistant, and the operator can focus on monitoring the quality of cultivation and harvesting.

The use of this system will reduce production costs by 3-5% and almost halve losses which occur during the harvest.

Cognitive Agro Pilot is capable of working even in bad weather and in all lighting conditions. Its peculiarity is that it does not use GPS navigation, enabling it to detect obstacles suddenly encountered by people, animals, metal objects and stones, for example. Moreover, the system works even in places where satellite signal is weak.

The combine "Torum 750" was used as a basis for new transport. During the tests, the machine participated in real grain harvesting.
