Russia has launched an initiative to analyze the level of digitalization in government structures in the BRICS countries.

This information may form the basis for further action in creating a digital platform for small and medium-sized businesses in our country based on the "one-stop-shop" principle. This platform will significantly simplify the workflow of documents in interaction with tax and administrative services, and will give an impetus to the development of entrepreneurship.

As the Russian representatives noted during the roundtable, which was dedicated to the support and development of small and medium-sized businesses in the BRICS countries, Russia is open to sharing its own experience of creating a relevant system with its BRICS colleagues.

The event was held in an online format on the electronic platform of the Roscongress Foundation. During the discussion, experts shared their experiences and exchanged their own practices in the use of digital technologies in the development and support of small and medium-sized enterprises.

Experts also discussed what steps the authorities should take to successfully digitalize this segment of the economy and the most popular tools of state regulation and principles for evaluating the results of the measures that have been taken.

Kirill Sergashov, Deputy Head of the Department for Investment Policy and Entrepreneurship Development of the Russian Ministry of Economic Development and Trade, stated that the BRICS countries' cooperation in the sphere of small and medium business support and development serves as a good opportunity to unlock the growing potential of the countries' economies.

He also drew attention to the fact that now there are changes in business, which are associated with the process of digitalization. In this context, he pointed to the fundamental importance of the transition to a digital economy.
