International gaming brand MY.GAMES has achieved record high revenues

International gaming brand MY.GAMES, which is part of Mail.Ru Group, generated RUB 11bn in the second quarter of this year. This is an increase of 46% compared to revenue for the same period last year. This figure represents 43% of Mail.Ru Group's total consolidated revenue.

According to the press service, most of the revenue (74%) the company received from sales outside of our country. Most of the games were purchased in the U.S., Germany and Japan. In the European market, the products were also in demand in France and the UK.

In the current quarter foreign sales increased by 54%.

The strongest impact on growth came from new product launches on consoles and a strengthening in the mobile segment, which is now growing the fastest.

According to the company itself, the United States accounts for about 40% of MY.GAMES' revenue. Meanwhile, it grew 55% year-over-year in the second quarter. In Europe, the UK saw the strongest sales growth in the period, up 77% over the same period last year.

Thanks to the launch of the new premium tactical first-person shooter Warface: Breakout for Xbox One and PlayStation 4, MY.GAMES' console revenue grew 149% in the US and 150% in the UK.

The U.S. was also the top 1 market for Breakout sales, accounting for 56% of copies sold.

The company also increased its revenue from mobile games in the second quarter - here the increase was 67%. The increase in user spending on mobile games in the first half of this year was 39% compared to the same period last year.

The top 5 most popular mobile games of the Russian company included War Robots, Hustle Castle, Left to Survive, Love Sick: Interactive Stories and Zero City.

The day before it became known that the Mail.Ru Group Company itself earned 25.4 billion rubles in the second quarter of this year. This is 25.5% more than it was in the same period last year.
