In Russia, the development of two-controller classic data storage system (DSS) based on domestic processors Elbrus and Baikal has started.

The creation is engaged in the competence center BAUM-Inform and DEPO Computers, the project "Made in Russia" reported in the press service of the interindustry engineering center "Composites of Russia" of MSTU named after Bauman.

In addition, the creation of distributed data storage system based on Elbrus processor is initiated. Such cooperation will allow to increase significantly the competitive advantages of the developed hardware-software complex in case of delivery to large strategic customers.

According to Vladimir Nelyub, Director of the Centre, the specialists are expected to work on adaptation of their own developments to fundamentally new microprocessor architecture to achieve the highest possible efficiency and complete fault-tolerance. He stressed that in the course of such activities the experts will solve non-trivial tasks that have not been faced before.
