Schoolchildren from Russia won five medals at the European Physics Olympiad

The Russian national team won 5 medals at the European Physical Olympiad, including 3 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze.

The gold winners were students from the Russian capital and Moscow region - Tatiana Emelyanova, Maxim Pokrovsky and Alisa Bugrova.

Fedor Oksanichenko from St. Petersburg got silver medal. Schoolboy Nikita Moskalev from the Kirov Region got a bronze medal.

It is worth noting that the students were trained by teachers of the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology Vitaly Shevchenko, Valery Slobodianin and Michael Osin. The problems themselves were also solved at this institution.

This year, due to the pandemic, the Olympiad took an online format. It consisted of theoretical and experimental parts. In total, teams from over fifty countries participated in the competition.

The Olympiad has been held for 3 years on the model of the International and Asian Physics Olympiads.

Only one team consisting of not more than 5 students and only 1 leader can participate from one country.
