Six new projects worth about $20 billion were considered during a meeting of the working group of the secretariat of the Russian-Chinese intergovernmental commission on investment cooperation.

During the meeting, applications from companies that are participants in the implementation of investment projects were studied.

In the framework of one of these projects it is proposed to create technology and start mass production in Stavropol polished sapphire wafers 6 inches in diameter, which will be used in the manufacture of high-brightness LEDs and micro LEDs. It is expected that about 150 thousand wafers will be produced here every month and the export earnings will exceed $75 million a year.

Another initiative involves construction of a gas-chemical complex, which will be part of the ethane-containing gas processing complex in one of the villages in the Leningrad Oblast. Investments in the project will total around $19 billion.

The capabilities of the new electronic platform created were also demonstrated at the event.

It is a reminder that earlier Chinese Ambassador to Moscow Zhang Hanhui said that the People's Republic of China intends to improve cooperation with our country in the military-technical sphere. In his opinion, this is necessary in order to maintain security and stability in the region.

He specified that by joint cooperation he means, among other things, conducting exercises, military competitions and training.
