Rosatom's enterprise started supplying steam generators to Turkey

The Atommash plant, which belongs to Rosatom's engineering division Atomenergomash, has shipped steam generators for power unit No. 1 at Turkey's first nuclear power plant Akkuyu.

In a few days 4 steam generators, each weighing 355 tons, will set sail. They will have to cover the 3,000-kilometer distance to the Akkuyu construction site. The steam generators are the most important components of the primary circuit of the reactor.

The plant is designed to incorporate four power generating units with Russian-made VVER type reactors of generation 3+. The capacity of each power unit will be 1200 MW.

This power plant is the first project in the world's nuclear sphere, which is implemented according to the Build-Own-Operate model.

As Atommash General Director Andrey Nikipelov said, this year Atommash is shipping a total of 3 reactor vessels and 17 steam generators across Russia and to foreign countries, including India and Bangladesh. At present, the domestic enterprise's equipment is already in operation or will soon be installed on 3 continents.

Earlier it became known that the organizations related to Rosatom now use a single brand.

Also this summer, Rosatom-related organization Rusatom - Automated Control Systems (RACS) became the industry integrator of a new line of business - "nuclear instrumentation". In this connection the company is now responsible for the implementation of science and technology policy and the development of competencies in this area, which are associated with the creation and manufacture of nuclear instrumentation products.
