GAZ Group introduced a bus that runs on liquefied natural gas.

The new environmentally friendly vehicle has already been tested and approved. During its presentation in Magnitogorsk, the bus was fueled with gas fuel for the first time, which was produced at the new liquefied natural gas complex.

The vehicle will soon start running on regular routes in Chelyabinsk in a test mode. After that the plant will start preparations for the production of the first pilot batch of buses.

The new bus will be able to carry about 110 people. Its modification includes a low floor level, a spacious storage area, and a kneeling system that makes it possible to tilt the body of the vehicle towards the doors for convenient boarding and unloading of passengers.

Also the vehicle is equipped with air conditioners, which evenly distribute the air all over the salon. The bus is designed so that it can be freely used by passengers with limited mobility.

The gas fuel is filled into a 375 litre cryobank. This volume suffices for travel over 300 kilometers without refueling. Thanks to special technology, the fuel always has a temperature of minus 160 degrees.

It is worth noting that the use of natural gas allows significant reductions in fuel costs, in comparison with gasoline or diesel fuel. At the same time natural gas is one of the most environmentally friendly types of motor fuel.
