Saudi Arabia has announced new requirements for importers of halal products

Saudi Arabia's Food and Drug Administration (SFDA) has announced updated hygiene requirements for halal products.

The requirements include overseas businesses that intend to ship poultry meat and poultry products to the kingdom.

According to the new law, from March 1 next year exporters from countries where there are no accredited SFDA bodies will be required to obtain certification from the new Saudi Halal Centre. At the same time, this deadline is postponed to November 1, 2021 for those states that already have accredited bodies in their territories.

As follows from the message of SFDA, the kingdom requires from the exporting countries to improve the safety and reliability of products that are delivered to Saudi Arabia.

Earlier, the Ministry of Rural Food of Tatarstan said that the republic intends to increase the supply of Halal products outside the country until 2024 at least twice as much as this year.
