Russian Dairy Company, the largest dairy producer in Penza Region, has started production of malting barley. This is reported on the company's website.

In 2020, the company produced 35,000 tonnes of barley, and the average yield exceeded 4 tonnes per hectare. At the moment, the area of barley planting is 8.5 thousand hectares.

Malting barley, according to the company, is of high quality and meets the requirements of the brewing industry. Thus, the grain is of high grain purity and its protein content is stable and varies from 9 to 12%. The production cycle is controlled at each stage - from seed stock creation to barley storage.

In the future, all products will be sold to malting and brewing companies. At the moment, the company already has several contracts to supply barley to large producers.

The company also produces malting barley seeds under license agreements at its own plant in the Bashmakovsky District.

At the moment, the company manages more than 150 thousand hectares of land.

It should be noted that the production of such barley in our country amounts to about 2 million tons annually, which corresponds to the annual demand for it.
