Russian grain exporter invests RUB 1 billion in purchase of elevators

One of the domestic grain exporters, Mirogroup, intends to create its own elevator facilities.

At present, the company plans to acquire four elevators in Voronezh Region, Krasnodar and Stavropol Territories. The company is ready to spend up to 1 billion rubles for that. Also Mirogroup does not rule out the possibility of building such granaries from scratch.

Thanks to its own infrastructure, the company will be able to monitor shipments more closely and save on logistics. However, a number of market players believe that it is better to keep grain at the third-party elevators, the mass media inform.

Recall, Mirogroup is part of Demetra Holding, over 50% owned by VTB, the rest belongs to Agronova Taimuraz Bolloyev and Marathon Group of Alexander Vinokurov and Sergey Zakharov. As it follows from the information of Rusagrotrans, last season, Mirogroup shipped almost 3.8 million tons of grain, yielding only to the trading house Rif (5.35 million tons). Russia's total grain exports, excluding the Eurasian Economic Union, were approximately 41 mln tonnes.
