Nuclear Medicine Center opened in North Ossetia for 300 million rubles

A nuclear medicine center appeared in North Ossetia on the premises of the regional oncologic dispensary.

During the launch ceremony the head of the republic, Vyacheslav Bitarov, said that the appearance of such a center will improve the quality of medical care for people suffering from oncology.

According to him, the problem of this disease is acute for the region. Now, patients will have the opportunity to fight successfully against such a disease. Bitarov stressed that it is a priority for the region to reduce mortality from cancer.

Patients will be able to undergo oncology diagnostics at the newly-opened center upon referral from the Republican Oncological Dispensary. State-of-the-art technology, including high-tech equipment for positron emission and computer tomography, has been installed at the centre.

More than 300 million rubles have been invested in the creation of the new medical center. The first patients may come here as early as in October.

According to plans, the center will receive over 6 thousand patients a year. Doctors have received additional training in nuclear medicine centers in the capital in order to work here.
