Russia's leading producer of metallurgical products Altai-Koks launched a coal ramming unit at an upgraded coke battery. Due to this it will be possible to increase the quality of coke, reduce the production cost and improve the environmental characteristics of production.

The regional government informed that the investments in the new production line amounted to approximately 5 billion rubles.

The Made in Russia Project was told by the press service of the Koksokhimmontazh trust, which performed the installation, that the new technology will make it possible to use almost all types of coal, and at the same time will significantly reduce the hazardous emissions into the atmosphere.

Work on the improvement of the battery itself has been carried out since 2018.

Sergey Fufaev, General Director of the Trust, stressed that the equipment that the company installed in Zarinsk is unique for the country for the preliminary crushing of the coal charge.

In all, approximately 2.5 thousand tons of steel structures, 3.5 thousand cubic meters of monolithic reinforced concrete above-ground structures and 4 thousand cubic meters of concrete foundations have been installed and mounted for the reconstruction of the battery.

The updated equipment has no analogues in the country with the same technological and economic indicators.

There were 450 people working at the site. Among the most difficult works were construction of the coal-tower with a bunker, lifting of the gallery blocks weighing up to 90 tons with two cranes to the height of 45 meters and construction of the large pipe conveyor that is built into the gallery in a spiral.

Previously, the technology of pre-compaction of a coal seam was actively used in large metallurgical plants in Europe and North America.
