Russia successfully tested robots for cargo transportation

Russia has tested domestically produced robots designed for cargo transportation.

Automated platforms from leading manufacturers not only from Russia, but also from other countries, were used in the testing. As a result, Gazprom Neft identified promising solutions for creating a fully autonomous logistics system.

During the tests, the robots were tested to perform various types of cargo transportation tasks. For this purpose, the machines had to interact with already operating automated stackers and perform operations in the conditions of a multi-level storage lift system.

The robots received their tasks from the warehouse operator online via Wi-Fi.

The process of delivering goods from the storage cell to the picking window was carried out completely autonomously. For the safety of warehouse employees, all robots were equipped with sensors which, if a person appeared in the sensor's field of vision, immediately stopped the movement of the platform.

For transportation of extra heavy loads a domestic robot Ronavi H1500 with lifting capacity of 1.5 tons was used for the first time. One of its advantages was a high-capacity battery which enabled the vehicle to work without recharging during an 8-hour shift.

Now, Gazprom Neft intends to create a unified IT platform to manage all robotic solutions for the digital logistics space.

In early September it became known that robots will be used at polling stations in Tatarstan during early voting. Then the regional Central Election Commission said that robot-teacher Eva will go to polling station № 165 where she will show her technical passport to PEC members instead of a citizen's passport and will ask to give her ballot papers for voting.

The election commission said the robot will be brought to the polling station to encourage locals to vote.
