Unmanned ships will begin testing in Russian regions on October 1 this year.

The relevant decree was signed by the Russian government.

The experiment will be conducted until the end of 2025 in several regions of the country including St. Petersburg, Kaliningrad and Sakhalin Regions, Krasnodar and Khabarovsk Territories.

As a result, the Ministry of Industry and Trade will be able to apply its results in the organization of the creation and installation of automatic and remote control systems on ships.

Thanks to these plans any shipping company will be able to equip their own commercial or technical vessel with autonomous navigation systems from the beginning of the next year and apply them to continuous commercial activity on the legislative level.
