The Uralvagonzavod Concern, which is part of the state corporation Rostec, will begin testing an intelligent street lighting system with eco-monitoring functionality by the end of 2020. The tests will take place in Chelyabinsk.

Such system is capable of online detection of exceeding the permissible concentration of ten types of hazardous substances in the air.

It is a modular urban lighting platform Amasis 2.0, which has a radio alert function, capable of distributing Wi-Fi and conduct video monitoring. In addition, the smart system is additionally equipped with an environmental monitoring module. Thanks to special sensors, the system determines air parameters and, in case of exceeding the standards, automatically transmits the data to supervisory authorities, after which the information is sent to the mobile laboratory, where the air condition is analyzed in more detail.

The deputy director general of Rostec Vladimir Artyakov said that after the tests the company intended to introduce such systems in various regions of Russia.

It is noted that in order to collect true data on the environmental situation, only 10 points with sensors need to be installed in the area.

Within the framework of the pilot, a prototype is planned to be installed in the Pervoozerny district.
