The Russian mining company Severstal has begun selecting technology start-ups to be piloted at its own production and resource sites as part of the nationwide Start-up Expedition B8 competition. For example, solutions for the Cherepovets Steel Mill will be considered.

Applications for participation may be submitted up to and including October 20.

Successful technological projects will have the opportunity to pilot the technology at industrial sites and Severstal's resource assets, including the Cherepovets Steel Mill.

To be eligible to participate, entrants must have a minimum viable product (MVP) and a team with the required competencies, as well as a technical specialist and a product promoter.

In 2020, Startup Expedition B8 brings together startups and large companies. The participants of the competition will be looking for technological solutions for the tasks of big business in the areas of peer-to-peer economy, machine vision, data analysis, and process automation. The winners will have the opportunity to start implementation of their own projects on the basis of partner companies.
