The sanitary certificate for the export of domestic plant products and products that are not subject to mandatory veterinary certification requirements has come into force.

Producers of confectionery products have experienced difficulties during customs and phytosanitary control since 2018.

According to Artem Tsinamdzhvrishvili, the Russian trade representative in Morocco, before this document was signed, exports to Morocco were insignificant and unsystematic. During deliveries, exporters faced serious delays in importing goods into that country because of the requirement to undergo laboratory control.

He explained that the lack of a single import certificate was the main problem and led to a reduction in the supply of relevant Russian products to Morocco. Thus, until 2018, they amounted to several million dollars. Due to the new measures and taking into account the growing demand in Morocco for confectionery products, a significant increase in supplies of goods from Russia to the Moroccan market is expected.

It should be noted that the trade mission acted as a link in the negotiations between the competent authorities of the two states, and consulted with the Moroccan side on a regular basis.
