Russian companies working in the field of urban planning, infrastructure and digital services are ready to provide their own expertise for the project of the Indonesian side to move their capital from Java to East Kalimantan.

This issue was addressed during the meeting of Russian-Indonesian working group on Trade, Industry and Investments.

During the event, other topics were also discussed, for instance, expansion of goods' access to the markets of both countries, prospects of elimination of barriers in mutual trade, and possibilities for diversification of mutual trade.

In addition, representatives of Russia and Indonesia considered plans and bottlenecks in the implementation of joint projects in the energy sector and digital economy, as well as in aviation and shipbuilding.

The Russian Federation submitted specific proposals to its foreign counterparts on intensifying cooperation in new industries. First of all, it concerns expertise on relocation of Indonesian capital.

Indonesian representatives discussed the possibility of importing halal products from Russia and agreed to let Russian businessmen obtain a halal certificate in Indonesia.

Also, the Indonesian side called on Russia to intensify cooperation in health, agriculture, tourism, energy and innovative technologies.

It is worth noting that Indonesia is one of the key partners of our country in Southeast Asia. Thus, last year the trade turnover amounted to 2.4 billion dollars.
