Russian Federation Increases Supplies of Agricultural Products to Turkey to $2.2 Billion

From the beginning of the year to mid-October, Russia increased the volume of agro-industrial complex (AIC) products supply to Turkey to 9.4 million tons, which is 14% higher than last year's figures for the same period.

In monetary terms, the growth amounted to 22% and reached the mark of $2.2 billion.

According to the results of 2019, Turkey was the second largest importer of Russian agricultural products, now this position is also maintained by this country. In particular, Turkey is the main foreign buyer of Russian wheat and bran and the second one of sunflower oil and corn.

Although wheat is still the main position in the structure of Russian exports, its share in the total volume decreased to 52% in 2020 compared to last year, when the figure was 58%.

As of mid-October, Russia shipped 5.7 million tons of cereals worth $1.2 billion to Turkey. Sunflower oil shipments increased by 36% to almost 530 thousand tons that were sold for $355 million.
