The world's largest production of graphite seals was launched in the Russian Federation

The largest enterprise where graphite seals are produced, called "Tensograph", was opened in the Tula region on the territory of the special economic zone "Uzlovaya".

Sealing materials are manufactured using fundamentally new technologies, two of which were developed by scientists of Moscow State University. Thus, specialists have developed a methodology that allows to make the production of sheet materials more environmentally friendly and cost-effective.

It should be noted that the service life of asbestos seals, which were used previously, was about 6 months. Due to application of the new technology the service life increases up to 8 years.

According to Valery Avdeev, director of the Moscow Technology Transfer Center at Moscow State University, the construction of the second stage in the future will also allow the plant to become one of the three world leaders in its segment of activity. Today the capacity of the plant is 2.7 thousand tons of graphite foil annually, and in the future it is planned to reach 5 thousand tons per year.

Another technology used here makes it possible to produce unique non-swept paronite seals, distinguished by special elasticity, tightness and safety.

The products of the Russian facility will be exported, among other things. For example, they will be mostly sold to markets in Western Europe, the USA, South America, and South-East Asia, while some will be sold to India and South Korea.
