Ulyanovsk Region, Otkritie Bank and Made in Russia will launch a project for exporters

The Ulyanovsk Region, Otkritie Financial Corporation and Made in Russia national brand project will launch a pilot project for exporters.

The work on the project to support existing and future regional enterprises will start on November 1. The agreement to this effect has been reached between the regional government and the bank.

In his speech Governor of the region Sergey Morozov emphasized the need to actively search for new ways to increase the volume of foreign supplies of local products amid the pandemic. He noted that such work is impossible without the participation of reliable partners.

"For the next three years we set ourselves ambitious goals: the share of electronic commerce must be at least 20%, the number of shops using electronic sales channels must be at least 70%, the number of residents buying via the Internet must be over 80%. The export of goods through e-commerce channels must increase by at least 5%," said the head of the region.

Specialists of the "Made in Russia" brand together with the bank have developed a set of support measures for Ulyanovsk exporters. It is a wide range of instruments - from assistance in promotion of their business brand to financial regulation.

"The bank supports companies that offer their goods and services for export or only plan to enter the international market. We create modern technological infrastructure, offer relevant products and services, and attract reliable partners. Our cooperation with Made in Russia brand, including bank's offers to small and medium enterprises in the form of financial instruments and opportunities to promote their business in foreign markets, will considerably increase value of partnership with the bank for exporters," said Nadiya Cherkasova, Deputy President and Chairman of the Management Board, PJSC Bank FC Otkritie.

"This is an important step in development of export activities not only for a particular region, but for the country as a whole. We expect that our joint pilot will give an impetus to enterprises from the Ulyanovsk region to increase the volume of supplies to foreign markets, as well as increase recognition of domestic brands outside Russia," said Mikhail Sadchenkov, CEO of Made in Russia.

"Made in Russia" includes international media, the Made in Russia logo and sectoral catalogues. When companies participate in the project and place the logo on their products, promotional materials, and websites, they contribute to recognition of domestic brands, business, and culture outside of Russia. This gives companies and regions an opportunity to provide communications and equal access to quality presentation materials and language support.

As of today, about 700 companies from different sectors of economy, from food and clothes manufacturers to companies, engaged in innovative activity or energetics, are the participants of the project.

It should be reminded that last year the Ulyanovsk Region exporters sent to foreign markets goods worth over 1 billion dollars. This year exports for 8 months exceeded 530 million dollars.

As of today more than 250 producers of the region are active and competitive players on the international market. Their products are exported to 88 countries, the main partners being Kazakhstan, the USA, Belarus, Denmark, Ukraine, China, the Congo, Germany, Azerbaijan and Armenia.

With the support of the regional Export Development Centre, Ulyanovsk entrepreneurs can take part in international exhibitions and events, which provides additional opportunities to find buyers outside the country. In addition, employees of the center assist in obtaining certification of goods and support for export transactions. Moreover, especially for promotion of goods of Ulyanovsk manufacturers there is an export hub in the Czech Republic.
