Russian operator of the world standard DataPro data center network opened its new and second DataPro II data center in Khimki, Moscow region, at the beginning of 2020. The new data center's capacity was 3,000 new rack space, which allowed the company to occupy 7.5% of the market and the third position in the domestic data center ranking according to iKS-Consulting.

"Many large companies - both Russian and foreign - began to take rack space in reserve. Among them are companies from China - they continue to expand into the Russian market. In this regard, the resources deployed in our data centers will be used to serve both Russian and European as well as Asian markets," commented Evgeny Bogdanchikov, executive director of the company.

DataPro II Khimki was built in record time and in accordance with all the necessary international standards. Already today the datacenter is actively exploited, and the IT systems of the first customers have been placed there. By the time of its opening, the company's current and new customers reserved more than 85% of the capacity.

"Such demand for DataPro data centers is due to the quality of the engineering infrastructure and high level of reliability, including 99.999% service availability," the company commented.

For instance, DataPro Khimki data center has successfully passed the Uptime Institute full certification for compliance with Tier III level of fault tolerance. TIER-III level of reliability means that all active equipment is redundant, at least according to N+1 principle, and the failure or planned shutdown for maintenance of any equipment does not lead to the stoppage of data center work. This means that the infrastructure allows for scheduled maintenance works without stopping the services, so they remain available to the customers in their entirety.

Description of DataPro data center

Each DataPro data center machine room is designed for 100 server racks and is located in a separate containment area. Machine rooms are divided into "hot" and "cold" aisles. Each rack is supplied with two power rays, each of which is connected to two different equipment power supplies. Four Internet channels are connected to the telecommunication rack. The data centre is powered by two power substations. The reserve power supply of Data Center in case of city grid outage is provided by own diesel rotary generating sets that are redundant according to 4/3N scheme. The fuel reserve is designed for 12 hours of work without city power.

The data center is monitored 24/7.
