Russia Sends Equipment for Kudankulam Nuclear Power Plant to India

The MV Janis vessel with equipment for the second stage of construction of the Kudankulam nuclear power plant departed for India.

This was the twentieth consignment for the NPP. The total cargo volume exceeded 7 thousand cubic meters.

In particular, equipment of the polar crane for the third block was sent. It is about the crane rail, the anchor pull and the loading device. The components of the fourth unit include thermal insulation, the tank and the set of elements of supports of the system of passive flooding of the core, shells and air gates of the system of passive heat removal, current carrying lines.

In addition, for the entire second stage of the NPP, the vessel is carrying equipment for the transport airlock, pumps, airtight penetrations, fittings, pipelines, and hydroseal of the decay pool.

The cargo is scheduled to be delivered to India next month.
