The authorities of the Samara region are studying the possibility of launching electric-powered ships, the region's governor Dmitry Azarov said on his Instagram.

In addition, he said that the government is interested in the project of development of urban electric water transport. At the moment the launch on the route Samara - Rozhdestveno is being considered.

Azarov made such statements following the results of the Transport week. It was held from 16 to 20 November in Moscow. Event participants discussed the challenges that face the transport industry. In addition, the international exhibition and forum Transport of Russia was held as part of Transport week.
