Russia builds steel plant abroad for the first time
Uzbekistan has launched the Tashkent Metallurgical Plant (TMP), which is the first time Russia has built "turnkey" overseas.
The plant will produce hot dip galvanized steel and prepainted steel for the construction, machine-building and other sectors of the economy. Overall investments in the project exceeded 326 million Euro.
Construction of such a plant was the first turnkey project implemented by a Russian EPC contractor abroad in the steel industry.
The EPC contract implies that the contractor is responsible for the full cycle of project implementation, from design to construction and commissioning. MetProm group of companies became the contractor.
More than 30 domestic enterprises, suppliers of equipment and services and more than 1 thousand highly skilled specialists in various fields were involved in the construction of TMP.
