Tekhnonikol Corporation, producer of construction materials and systems, will start construction of a stone wool plant in Kazakhstan in 2021, the Made in Russia Project was told in the press service of the company.

For Technonicol, this will be the company's third mineral wool production outside Russia, and the first in Asia. The annual capacity of the plant will be 1.4 million cubic meters of finished products. EUR 65 million will be invested in the project.

The new enterprise will be located in an industrial zone 25 kilometres from Almaty. The launch of the first production line is scheduled for 2023.

As co-owner of Tekhnonikol Sergey Kolesnikov reminded, this year the company has already announced an investment program for the current and next years. The company planned to invest about 15 billion rubles for two years in commissioning new and upgrading existing facilities in Russia and Europe.

However, the corporation, according to him, decided to adjust the program, increasing the investment by 5 billion rubles and thus starting the construction in Kazakhstan.

The new factory will produce mineral wool for the thermal and sound insulation of walls, roofs, facades, floors, and interior partitions. In addition, materials for sandwich panels, technical insulation, and fire protection will be produced here.

In the future, the plant will be able to launch the production of substrates for the agro-industrial complex.
