The Ministry of Agriculture intends to boost the country's milk production to 32.6 million tonnes this year.

According to the ministry, by the end of 2020, dairy companies produced more than 32 million tons of products, an increase of 855,000 compared to 2019.

In order to ensure further growth, a highly efficient fodder base should be created and feed rations should be balanced. In addition, innovative animal husbandry technologies should be introduced and the genetic potential of dairy herds should be used more actively.

It is noted that the indicators for dairy products and milk powder will remain at the level of 2019.

Last year more than 28 billion rubles were allocated to support the dairy industry. The support measures will remain in place this year as well. The companies will also be able to spend their short-term loans on grain, meal, premixes and amino acids from 2021. In February, the country will introduce a 30% duty on the export of soybeans and rapeseed to reduce the price of feed.
