The Gorky Automobile Plant (GAZ) started mass production of new cabover trucks Valdai Next. A total of RUB 1.4 billion was invested in the project.

This truck is the second cabover truck of the domestic company after the GAZ-66. The first pre-production vehicles were released in the summer of 2020.

The truck was created on the same platform as the "GAZon Next". The truck is equipped with Chinese cabover cabin, which in Russia will be imported immediately in finished form, and a number of interior details and glass will be installed on the spot.

Total weight of the truck is 6.7 tonnes, and payload is 3.7 tonnes. Frame rigidity of the new truck is 30% higher than the previous model.

The vehicle is equipped with a 2.8-liter diesel engine with an output of 130 hp paired with a six-speed manual gearbox.

To begin mass assembly of the new model the company organized stamping of plastic elements of exterior and interior.
