Russians started selling more goods abroad

The number of parcels from Russia has increased by 75% over the year, according to the preliminary results of a joint study by Data Insight and eBay.

The growth rate of online export market doubled and amounted to 42%. At the same time a number of goods showed a threefold and twofold growth. In the first case we are talking about home and interior products, and in the second case - sports and leisure products.

Most of the revenues from online sales abroad are accounted for by clothing and footwear (40%), home and interior products (9%) and electronics.

According to the Russian Post, which accounts for about 80% of domestic exports, the number of overseas shipments increased by 23% during the year. The most active destinations, according to their data, were European countries, USA and Canada.

To promote Russian exporters, the Russian Export Center (REC) has launched a virtual pavilion on the major Chinese electronic marketplace Tmall. Also, regional authorities are now supporting exporters. For instance, last year 135 entrepreneurs from Bashkiria placed more than 25 thousand goods at eight international electronic platforms. A year ago there were only 12 companies and one marketplace.
