For the first time grain from Siberia to Turkey was sent by rail

Wheat from the Novosibirsk Region was shipped to Turkey by rail for the first time. The volume of the shipment was 500 tons.

Grain will be delivered to the destination within 12 days. This is two times faster than the shipment of this product by the Black Sea.

Tatarskaya station of the West-Siberian Railroad became the initial point of departure.

It became possible due to the use of the transport corridor Baku - Tbilisi - Kars, which increases direct grain exports for Siberian producers to Turkey and frees up the port infrastructure of the North Caucasus to build up other shipments.

Another advantage of the new route is lower transportation costs for cargo owners, as it eliminates port transshipment and ship chartering.

Previously cargo to Turkey was sent through the Black Sea ports, the delivery included more than 5 logistic operations. These include rail transport, transshipment in port, forwarding, vessel chartering, transshipment in Turkish port and delivery to the consumer. The delivery time could be up to one month.
