A RUB 110 million robotic dairy farm opened in the Kurgan Region

A new robotic dairy farm for 150 cattle has opened in the Kurgan village of Lebyazhye, said the Governor of Trans-Urals Vadim Shumkov.

A total of 110 million roubles has been invested in its creation. The cows will be milked and fed by smart machines.

According to the Governor, housing for farm workers will be built next to the facilities.

As told in a regional agro-industrial complex, the use of robots for milking cows will allow to make milk of the highest quality, because the human factor will be excluded. The robot follows the sequence of operations and selects the best mode of milking for each animal, thus minimizing stress on the cows.

The regional budget has compensated the farm for about 40% (30 million roubles) of the cost of the forage harvesting equipment. The investor will get 65% (7 million roubles) of the costs for the purchase of pedigree cattle. At the moment 160 breeding heifers of Holstein breed have already been purchased.
