A 30-billion-ruble advanced grain-processing plant will open in the Krasnoyarsk Territory

An enterprise for deep processing of grain will appear in Krasnoyarsk Territory. A total of 30 billion roubles will be invested in the plant.

The investor is Sibagro Biotech, an agro-industrial holding company, which intends to build the plant in three years.

The agreement on cooperation in establishing the new plant was signed by the company's management and the governor of the region, Alexander Uss.

He pointed out that Krasnoyarsk Territory is traditionally associated with metallurgy, oil industry and defense enterprises. However, according to Uss, the region has decent indicators for grain production and yield, which in 2020 was the highest from the Urals to the Far East. Right now, the region has no enterprises to process grain.

"This project is significant not only on the scale of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, but also in Russia as a whole, so we will hope for organizational and financial support at the federal level," he said.

The investment in the project will amount to about 30 billion rubles. Due to the launch of the plant the regional budget will receive "serious tax effects". It will process about 17% of the gross harvest of grain which Krasnoyarsk Region provides. The new factory will employ 500 people.

This will give the Oblast the possibility to shift from selling raw materials to advanced processing and production of high value-added products which are now in demand not only in the country but also abroad.

The company plans to process the grain into gluten, lysine chloride, fodder yeast and biodegradable plastic.
