Russians with a negative COVID test will be able to visit Georgia from March 1

Georgia will simplify entry for Russian citizens from 1 March, Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili has said.

Now residents of Russia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Ukraine, Kazakhstan and Belarus will be able to enter Georgia by air. For this purpose, entering countries have to provide a negative PCR-test for the infection.

Earlier only European countries' citizens could enter Georgia with a document registering PCR-test results while the rest had to present a vaccination certificate.

According to Garibashvili, the existing regime on land borders will remain in place.

Also a major part of restrictions will be lifted in Georgia. For example, long-distance transportation will resume operation from February 25 and hotels at ski resorts will open.

In addition, restaurants will be allowed to work indoors (except for weekends) - from March 1 in Batumi, March 8 - throughout the country.

However, there will still be a curfew from 21.00 to 05.00.

Currently, one can fly from Russia to Tanzania, Turkey, Switzerland, UAE, Kyrgyzstan, Egypt, Belorussia, Kazakhstan, Japan, South Korea, Serbia, Vietnam, Ethiopia, Finland, Singapore, India, Greece, Qatar, Singapore, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Cuba, Seychelles and Maldives.
