Russia plans to start exporting milk and turkey to Iran

Sergey Levin, Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, discussed with Iranian Ambassador Kazem Jalali cooperation between the two countries in the agro-industrial sector.

Now veterinary certificates for deliveries of the main types of domestic products of animal origin have already been agreed upon. In addition, work is underway to start exports of turkey meat, finished meat and milk products to Iran.

During the meeting the sides also touched upon issues of agrarian interaction, for instance, possibilities for further increase of trade of agricultural products and foodstuff. Special attention was paid by the Deputy Minister and the Ambassador to issues related to mutual access to markets of both countries.

At the moment, agriculture is one of the main areas of cooperation between Russia and Iran, and statistical data show that the turnover of agro-industrial products has been growing for several years.
