Russia Post's first 7.5 billion ruble sorting hub launched in Novosibirsk

"Russian Post, together with VTB Group, implemented a new project - the launch of the country's first sorting hub, which was opened in Novosibirsk.

A total of 7.5 billion roubles was invested in the construction and equipment of the centre. The new logistics center will provide jobs for about 1.3 thousand local residents.

The hub is located on an area of 46 thousand "squares" near the Tolmachevo airport. Up to 25% of the total mail flow from South-East Asia, China and Japan will go through it. The capacity of the complex is capable of handling up to 1.5 million letters and parcels daily.

During the years 2021-2022 Russian Post will launch logistic hubs in eight cities with a population of millions more. We are talking about Khabarovsk, Samara, Krasnodar, Nizhny Novgorod, Ufa, Krasnoyarsk, Voronezh and Chelyabinsk.

On the whole, the new hub will be able to provide services to 11 million residents of the Siberian region. Sorting will be carried out here for 3.5 thousand post offices. The service area of the center will include Novosibirsk, Omsk, Kemerovo, Tomsk regions, Altai Krai and the Republic of Altai.

The new logistics center is the first and the largest sorting hub of Russian Post. On a national scale this hub will be the second in size after Moscow's Vnukovo logistics centre and the first in terms of process automation.
