Brazil has simplified rules for the procurement of coronavirus vaccines
The President of Brazil signed a law on exceptional measures for the procurement of vaccines against coronavirus. This will accelerate the registration and use of the Russian vaccine Sputnik V in Brazil.
Earlier, the Brazilian Supreme Court and the Senate approved an interim measure facilitating the purchase of these vaccines. After that the document was sent to the head of state for signature.
The law establishes flexible rules for the purchase of materials and equipment for mass vaccination.
According to the Russian trade mission in Brazil, due to increase of number of infections in connection with spread of new "Brazilian" strain, hospitals became overcrowded - in 25 of 27 Brazilian states more than 80% of beds in intensive care departments are occupied.
According to experts, such a situation could lead to the complete collapse of the country's health care system.
