Rostec increased the computing power of the Fischer supercomputer to 100 Tflops

Rostec's subsidiary Roselectronics upgraded the Fischer supercomputer by adding more than 20 computing nodes to its hardware. This allowed to increase the peak power by 4.5 times. Now it exceeds 100 Tflops.

After the upgrading, the number of Fisher's computational nodes increased nearly twofold from 24 to 44, while the total number of cores exceeded 3 thousand.

The supercomputer uses a domestic immersion cooling system that provides uniform and energy efficient thermal management of the computational load. Due to this, the supercomputer now does not require a specially prepared room.

As Oleg Yevtushenko, Rostec Industrial Director, said, the equipment was built on the basis of Angara network, which allows to flexibly expand its capacity by adding new computing nodes. After the upgrade, he said, the speed of operations performed has increased significantly.

"This gives new opportunities for processing big data, training neural networks, modeling the characteristics of new products, etc.," Yevtushenko said.
