Bashkortostan increased exports by almost 13% this year

The Republic of Bashkortostan has increased its foreign trade turnover in January this year by 5.3% to $193 million compared with the same period last year. At that, exports have increased by 12.8 percent and reached almost 156 million dollars.

Imports into the country, on the contrary, decreased by 17.6% to $37.2 million, according to the regional government website with reference to the Volga Customs Department.

It is to be noted that further growth of export indexes is predicted according to the results of February.

Top ten countries-counterparts of the republic in January included China, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Turkey, Uzbekistan, Lithuania, Azerbaijan, Greece, Netherlands and Iran. The major exports were machinery products, fuel and energy, chemicals and natural rubber, food, metals and wood products.

However, in January-February budget revenues of Bashkortostan decreased by 17%. Thus, tax and non-tax revenues to the consolidated republican budget amounted to 16.3 billion rubles, said regional Prime Minister Andrei Nazarov.
