Production of meat in January-February this year in Russia increased by 3% to 468 thousand tons compared with the same period last year, according to Rosstat data. However, the output of sunflower oil, processed and canned fish decreased.

Also, the country has reduced the production of poultry meat by nearly 8% (721 thousand tons) for the same period. Production of processed meat, on the contrary, increased by 10% to 665 thousand tons. The production of sausage products increased by about 5%. The production of canned meat remained at the same level - about 82 million conditional cans.

According to Rosstat, in the reporting period in Russia the production of processed and canned fish has decreased by 16% to 604 thousand tons.

However, during this time producers have produced 7.2% less sunflower oil and its unrefined fractions.

Also it follows from the agency's data that in the first two months production of canned potato (+13.3%) and fruit and vegetable juices (+32%) increased in the country.
