Bashneft's subsidiary has developed a hydrocracking catalyst technology that will help boost production of high-quality Euro-5 motor fuels from vacuum gas oil, a product of oil refining.

The catalyst has already been successfully tested and will be launched this year in Bashkortostan. It is expected to significantly reduce dependence on imported counterparts, which now make up 90% of all supplies of such products in the country.

Testing has shown that Russian scientists have created a development capable of competing with foreign technologies in terms of the duration of the catalyst with preservation of quality characteristics and the selection of target products.

The first customer for the catalyst is the Ufa refinery complex, and it will eventually be supplied to other Rosneft enterprises.
