One of the country's largest agricultural holdings, Agrocomplex named after Tkachev, intends to spend 6.5 billion rubles on sowing operations. This is 8.3% more than in 2020, the company's crop production director Savva Shevel said.

The increase of financing is connected with the growth of expenses for purchasing seeds by 250 million roubles and chemical agents for the protection of plants by 200 million roubles. Another 760 million roubles will be spent on the renewal of the machinery.

According to Mr. Shevel, the Agrocomplex will sow sugar beet and sunflower on 218 thousand hectares in 2021, which is similar to the last year results.

Already now there started the sowing of alfalfa and beetroot. In April, the farmers of the holding will plant sunflower and corn, and then soybean. Sowing of rice will start at the end of the month. All the work is expected to be completed on May 10.
